Hi, I'm Karen.

Chartered Clinical Psychologist

It's great to meet you!

About Dr Karen Murphy

I am an experienced clinical psychologist with over 15 years experience working in the NHS. Throughout my career, I have worked with children and adults living with various physical and mental health needs. Whilst I continue to offer this support, I specialise in supporting those with allergies and feeding difficulties.

I am passionate about empowering those I work with to strengthen their understanding of the difficulties they are experiencing and develop strategies to manage the challenges life can present.

In 2019 I set up my own private practice in order to support those seeking psychological therapy outside of the NHS. I am also the Lead Psychologist for the Allergy Centre of Excellence.

My Approach

As a clinical psychologist, I am passionate about the evidence-based approaches I have trained in.

I often draw on models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and EMDR in my work. I really believe in the power of developing strategies within the therapy room that clients can bring forward with them along their journey and that they can draw on once they leave the therapy room.
